As cement manufacturers continue to seek reduced production costs and pursue alternative fuels and raw materials to fuel facilities, BEUMER Group will present low-cost, environmentally positive solutions to effectively integrate into existing systems at the IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Conference, May 1-5 in Las Vegas.
Recognizing that energy costs account for about 40% of the cost of production, BEUMER developed a system to properly dispose of waste and secondary fuels and convert them into energy at the same time. Utilizing a high-temperature process in kiln systems, cement manufacturers can dispose of waste and generate alternative fuels in an economical and environmentally conscious manner.
“Alternative fuels and waste can be used in high-temperature rotary kiln systems without having a negative impact on cement quality,” said Jan Tůma, chief sales officer at BEUMER Group Czech Republic. “Waste material is less expensive to procure and allows our customers to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, thereby reducing their carbon footprint.”
As a specialist in cement since 1935, BEUMER is an experienced, internationally active solution supplier to the cement industry and has the right solution ready for any challenge in conveying, loading, silo filling, palletizing or packaging technology. BEUMER’s cement handling portfolio includes overland conveyors, alternative fuel handling systems, bucket elevators and packaging equipment.
